Meet the therapist you’d kickstart your New Chapter with!
Karishma Rajan Menon (She/Her)
BA Psych(Hons), MPsych, MPsych(Clinical), AMACPA
Clinical Psychologist and Board-approved Supervisor
I am a Clinical Psychologist offering evidence-based approaches to help and support you in making sense of experiences and understand patterns, feel more connected to who are you, cope with challenges and build helpful coping mechanisms and strategies.
I have particular interests in trauma and attachment, and I am currently pursuing my PhD from The University of Sydney.
I am formally trained in Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I draw on these approaches to ensure that your goals are values aligned and I am committed to providing trauma-informed and culturally responsive care. I strongly believe that one size does NOT fit all and can be flexible for your needs.
I work with concerns related to anxiety, depression, stress, panic, grief and loss, burnout, and complex trauma. I am currently completing my Schema therapy accreditation and also offer Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I am knowledgeable about gender diversity, is LGBTQIA+ friendly and can also support with WPATH assessments and surgical readiness letters. I work in a neurodiversity-affirming way valuing each person’s unique and diverse needs, strengths, and ways of thinking. My aim is that my approaches support you to understand your world without pathologising your experiences.
I have experience working with a diverse range of issues across in-patient private and public hospitals, community organisations along with facilitating groups for adults with anxiety and depression, groups for young people with anxiety and trauma at headspace, addiction and mood-related issues, behaviour management programs for children (2-10 years) and working with the neurodiverse population, with extensive training in cognitive assessments.
Availability:
I currently offer video/phone appointments Australia-wide during the week and I am available for in-person and telehealth sessions on Saturdays at Ultimo, Sydney.
I am a Board-approved Supervisor and can provide supervision that is reflective and culturally-informed for provisional psychologists, clinical psychology registrars, early career psychologists, counsellors, and/or therapists.
